  • Curry served by friendly Nepalese dudes. 5 seats. The keema curry is the specialty but they are usually sold out of it by dinnertime, so plan accordingly. Interesting flavor, with eggplant, cashew, cabbage and other stuff.

  • Small and you have to stand up to eat, but good quality curry. You will have to wait a little since there is usually a line. The curry is relatively spicy, so it’s good for those spice lovers. Even the chicken curry is spicy so be careful! The chai tea afterwards is tasty after a spicy meal.

  • While wandering the streets of Ebisu, I chanced upon an inconspicuous corner with no signs—just the enticing aroma of spices wafting through the air. My curiosity piqued, I ventured inside and discovered Bombay Curry Ebisu, a tiny haven for curry enthusiasts. The establishment is cozy, featuring only six standing counter spots that make for an intimate dining experience. Upon entering, the heavy scent of spices from the open kitchen enveloped me, immediately setting the tone for what was to come. The ordering process was straightforward, thanks to a ticket machine reminiscent of those in ramen shops. Unsure of what to choose, I consulted the gentleman behind the counter. He recommended the Kashmiri curry, noting its popularity among patrons. When the Kashmiri curry arrived, I was initially taken aback by its wet, almost soup-like consistency. However, any reservations vanished after the first bite. The dish was packed with heat, rich spices, and an abundance of flavor that left a lasting impression. As satisfying as it was, I couldn't help but eye the dish my neighbor was enjoying—it looked even more intriguing. Determined to fully embrace the experience, I mustered the appetite to order the Kheema/Mountain Chicken Curry (I couldn't remember) This dish hit the bullseye. Served in a quaint curry pot, it was dry yet aromatic, rich, and filled with nuts and crunchy vegetables that added delightful textures. Despite having already indulged in a hearty meal, I found myself savoring every bite with ease. Noticing my hearty appetite, the proprietor offered me a complimentary tamago egg, a gesture of hospitality that added a personal touch to the meal. We struck up a conversation, and he shared stories of his Nepalese heritage, travels across Asia, and his life in Japan. His warmth and openness added another layer to the memorable experience. Bombay Curry Ebisu is more than just a place to eat—it's a hidden gem that offers a blend of authentic flavors and genuine human connection. The cozy atmosphere, coupled with the exceptional cuisine, makes it a must-visit spot. I look forward to returning on my next trip to Tokyo.

  • I passed by this place and was enamored by the good smell haha and the people who were lined up. I tried their keema curry. It was great! The serving was generous. In fact, a little too generous because I couldn’t finish everything; I had to say sorry to the staff. The staff were kind and they served everyone nicely. They serve cold chai tea / hot coffee + one bite-size chocolate after you eat your meal. I really loved their pickled onions, too. Also, I should’ve ordered egg as well. Next time!
